DOG Cake

HI, and welcome back, Today i made a Dog cake for my sister and her boyfriends birthday.  This cake is a “recreation” of her dog YOSHI.

The inside is marble  cake.  I got the recipe for the martha stewart cupcakes cookbook, i doubled the recipe and added 5 mins to the cook time.  It was SUPER moist and delicious 🙂

Once both 9 inch circle pans had cooled i cut the first one in half

Then i “glued” the 2 pieces together with buttercream icing.  This created the body of the dog.  After this i cut the second cake in half.  I took one of those halves and cut THAT in half, these made the hind legs.  With the remaining half i cut out a half moon shape for the head, and a rainbow shape was left behind, which was cut into 4 pieces to create the nose, tail and ears.  Each piece was held together with buttercream.

I placed it in the refrigerator for a little while so the icing could harden.  Once i took it out i iced the dog with the grass tip to create the fur

Deff looks like a boring rabbit, i had to trim the ears a bit because they were to POINTY. AND HERE WE ARE!

The eyes, tongue, collar and toe nails are all made fro, Gum-paste.
